There isn't much to say really, apart from what you already know. I think writing isn't just about putting words down on paper - writing is the art of adding substance to dreams, of pulling rabbits out of hats and, most of all, taking the light out of the darkened alleyway and seeing what shadows emerge.

Writing is about taking risks; at some point in your literary life you'll find yourself on a cliff-edge, staring down into the unknown. Somewhere in that terrifying, inky night is a glimmer of a story or a poem or a song, and if you're crazy enough to jump, you might just catch it.

I don't know if I'm any good at catching that firefly of an idea and turning it into English, but I hope that I can at least shed a little of its light onto the pages of a book, and hence into your hands, to do with as you will.

Otherwise, I'm just the guy who's crazy enough to jump off that cliff-edge.
