While I was living on Florida's Gulf coast, I became fascinated with pelicans. Percy's story began with the photo of the 'real' Percy pelican on the cover. After much encouragement and support from family and friends, Percy has become a reality. I love writing and also enjoy painting. A watercolor of Percy's original photo hangs in my living room. It is one of my first paintings and one of my very favorites.
My interest in writing began years ago in the form of journals and I hope one day to compile these writings into a book of devotionals.
This is my first published book and the first in a series of children's books about the sea. It was so much fun creating the characters in the book ~ and as a 'new author' I didn't realize that they actually come to life and are very much a part of me now.
I hope you enjoy reading Percy's story as much as I have enjoyed creating it. I have come to know Percy very well and believe there is a litte bit of him in all of us.
