Arianna Simien (b.1994, United States) is receiving her BFA in painting from the Atlanta campus of Savannah College of Art and Design in the spring of 2016. Raised in the small collegiate town of Carrollton, Georgia, approximately 50 miles west of the city of Atlanta, her past and present experiences in her hometown and the time spent traveling between Carrollton and Atlanta, what she refers to as her two homes, is a major influence to her work. Simien uses a variety of methods such as repetitive circles and sharp gradient lines as a way to describe and interpret memories about her past experiences. Arianna Simien’s work has been exhibited in group exhibitions as well as during live painting performances in the Atlanta area. As she finishes working towards her degree at SCAD’s main campus, she is currently living and working near the historic city of Savannah, Georgia
