Growing up as an Air Force military brat, Charlotte lived on 4 continents. With each new country she became aware of the differences of light and landscapes. Her family settled in the San Joaquin Valley where she grew to love the varying landscapes.
Charlotte began painting with watercolors but after using pastels they became her choice of medium. "Pastel is the perfect medium to portray the emotions of the landscpe."
Charlotte retired to the Mariposa area near Yosemite. She and her husband share their lives with their parrots, dogs, chickens, turtles and fish.
Charlotte and her photographer husband are active in the art community in the Mariposa and Oakhurst area. They are committee members of Sierra Art Trails Open Studio Tour as well as participating artists. Charlotte and her husband are also active with the Yosemite Western Artists organization.
