I've been working experimentally with video and computers since the late 1960s. Work has been included in three Whitney Museum Biennials and is in permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art, NYC. My experiments with analog and digital processing systems was supported by New York State Council on the Arts, National Endowment for the Arts, and Guggenheim Fondation grants and fellowships. Since 1981 I have been teaching video art and new technologies as a studio practice at Ramapo College. My experiments with the inherent electronic structure of video led to works in which I explored voltage controlled breath patterns that changed the video signal in painterly ways. After a hiatus, during which time I obsessively painted, I returned to experimenting mostly with video using low end and accessible hardware and software to observe, transform, and communicate about nature, art, and life during this time.
