Public health counseling took my time for fifteen years along with raising two children. They are in college now and empty nest syndrome sent me back to my camera. Photography had changed but I hadn't yet embraced the virtual bits of data. I set aside my first digital camera because I was too used to the 35mm film and I had even developed black and white prints myself. However once I got started again with digital photography I found the editing software a delight in comparison to 35mm editing (a paint brush, really).
