I was born in Kentucky and raised in Indiana to Canadian parents. When I was 24 I moved permanently to Canada with my first stop being at Twin Valleys School, an alternative educational community. This life changing experience guided me into my career for the rest of my life in Social Service work. I have two children and one grandchild (and another one on the way) from my first marriage. I have three step children and 5 step grandchildren from my second marriage.I currently live in Ottawa with my second wife. I edited and published Voices of the Valley for a reunion of Twin Valleys on Father's Day weekend 2010. It is a collection of stories and memories of lessons learned at Twin Valleys.
