Alerta del narrador ansioso: creo que mi próximo libro será sobre...
I'm working on a series of illustrated memoirs. Growing Up Gringa, The House on the Corner, is the first; the second will be about my years at the American School in Mexico City. After that, quien sabe, as we say in Mexico.
Todos necesitan saber acerca de estos autores y artistas...
Currently reading books by Alice McDermott and Jonathan Lethem. They are as different as possible, but I love them both. Good writing is good writing.
Music: You can't do better than Beethoven, Shubert, Mozart, Haydn, Gershwin, Copeland, Bob Dylan and Neil Young.
Art: Rembrandt, Matisse, Vuillard, Kandinsky, Fra Angelico, Van der Weyden, Fabritius, Picasso, Velazquez, Goya, Renoir, Hopper (I could go on, but you get the idea).
Este libro es adictivo. Léalo (bajo su propia responsabilidad).
Books I love: Gertrude and Claudius by John Updike, Mr. Sammler's Planet by Saul Bellow, The Golden Notebook, by Doris Lessing, most Anne Tyler, most Barbara Pym (if you like miniature British dramas set in small-town vicarages), The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Alice Munro's short stories, Jane Austin's Emma and Sense & Sensibility, Doctorow's The Book of Daniel (and others). So many, many more!
