Ted founded and - for more than 30 years - was the creative principal of Bertz Design Group, Inc. in Middletown, CT. Now semi-retired, he still works with the firm as a creative consultant.

Ted’s love of design was nurtured from an early age, while working side-by-side with his father at their family-owned hand painted sign business. He sharpened his skills by attending Ohio University, receiving a BFA at Columbus College of Art and Design. He later attended graduate studies at the University of Hartford.

Throughout his career, Ted built a legacy of break-through design for many of the country’s leading enterprises, applying the same high standards regardless of the project's budget. The depth, breadth and - most of all - unerring quality of his work established him as one of the nation’s leading graphic designers. A true iconoclast, Ted has been – and remains – a not-so-quiet advocate for expanding the boundaries of design. Ted remains a tireless activist in the design community.
