In 2003 I was diagnosed with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis. (M.E.) The following year I joined a support group and met my wonderful Annie. Within two months I had proposed and in 2006 we were married.
I mention this because she has been my inspiration and my support. Annie was the conductor for my latent love of words and through her encouragement she has been responsible for my poems and my book. Annie has suffered from M.E. for over twenty years and is the most positive influence in my life.
I have been able to escape the physical limitations of my illness by immersing myself in the laptop of my mind. This is my own way of clawing back a little of my own self esteem. It’s a bloke thing!
I don't see having my works in print as an ego thing; just a form of gentle encouragement gleaned from the knowledge that one day, one person, may be touched by the emotions and images I have woven into the words.
