Acerca del libro
This is an Artist´s Book that rests on the concept of multiple democratic and of the use of modern methods of editing, printing, publishing and commercialization used nowadays taking as an inspiration the work "Twentysix Gasoline Stations" of E. Ruscha.
The security posts located at every corner being are part of the urban geography of my town.
In 2005 I began to photograph them. What first caught my attention was the way in which these guards took up these spaces and how this security posts follows their neighbourhoods characteristics in terms of the colours of the walls, the design of their tiny gardens, the materials with which were built even their architectural styles.
As I kept on doing my research work I started to find a close relationship between the years in which they were installed, from the actuality until 1970, I found out that there was a narrow relation between the main political and economic events of the country, the increase of the poverty and the crime with the rise in the number of these security posts.
Finally, on having photographed as portrait these habitable spaces, I feel that the naïve look of these security posts actually does not reflect the reason why they have been created.
