Acerca del libro
In the Summer of 2006, my friend Arnar and I took on a trip to the Icelandic Highlands.
The plan was to document many of the places where the Icelandic government was planning on building dams, flooding entire valleys of pristine unspoiled Nature, in order to supply enough energy for the new aluminum smelters.
These smelters require enormous amounts of energy and Iceland is very attractive to the industry for this reason. Unfortunately, the damage to the delicate ecosystem is significant and irreversible. Millions of migrating birds will lose the habitat they have been using for centuries.
While we were photographing the lands, our truck broke down in the middle of nowhere. This is a loose interpretation of what happened on that weekend.
