Acerca del libro
A few years ago, Dan Mitchell-Innes was a staunch monochrome man. His photos, while rife with candid street life, were nearly always black and white.
In these more recent portrait studies, he deftly adds colour to an already humourous, well-seen oeuvre. These honest images utterly surprise with their candor and respectful integrity. While the sitters may not be our next door neighbours, with Mitchell-Innes' light touch, what emerges are like visits with charismatic, real individuals.
Valued keepsakes, meaningful momentos of contemporary lives are given places of honour in their unique havens via the Mitchell-Innes signature style: a frank but seemingly offhand approach so that every person and portrait is worthy of - and quietly demands - our total contemplation.
