Acerca del libro
A major part of Zürich's livability is the proximity of water with the Lake of Zürich and the two rivers, the Sihl and the Limmat, which flow through central Zürich providing green-lung and recreational areas.
My intention with this series of pictures is to present my personal perspective of how the people of Zürich live with and relate to the rivers - especially the mundane everyday details we overlook, as well as the traces we leave behind as we work, play, love, rejoice and grieve.
The pictures for this book were shot over five spring mornings in May/June 2009, using the square 6x6 film format with Rolleicord Vb twin-lens-reflex and Mamiya 6 rangefinder cameras.

Acerca del creador
I grew up in Malaysia, went to high school in Singapore and then on to university in New Zealand where I studied Economics and Business Administration. In the last few years I've rediscovered photography and through a combination of self-education and participating in formal workshops have progressed from vacation snaps to taking a more thoughtful approach. My main interest is in discovering and documenting the world, experiencing the magic and wonder of different cultures and lands - from the exoticism and contradictions of Cuba, to the passion of Sicilian Easter rituals, as well as rediscovering, through my lens, my homeland Malaysia.. I am a member of LUMEN, an independent photographer's cooperative. I am a former editor of Swiss Peeks, a series of Swiss photography books and former co-moderator of DigifotoCH, an online community for English-speaking photographers based in Switzerland. nick@nickyoon.com
