Acerca del libro
Western media has often presented Muslim women as being oppressed and submissive, but the notion that these women have their own, independent lives seems overlooked. Cultural identity for Muslims in Britain has changed from generation to generation, as the young struggle to balance their British and Islamic values, and the elders strive for tradition.
In this series I have explored how our society views Islam and women, and in turn how these women view themselves in our current social climate.
