The myth says that a giant beast or dragon or even possibly a black ram jumped once out of the rock, twirled around forming the Verligka lake and then lost forever inside the guts of Lakmos mount, where the water is lost underneath the rock to fill in his travel the riverbed of Achelous.
Across this capture, looking to the horizon is the tallest peak of mount Lakmos. It is called Tsoukarela at 2,295m.

My name is Elias Pentikis and I am a landscape - cityscape photographer and lately a portrait photographer. I am a Greek who was born and lives in Kavala - Greece. A small city and capital to a region of around 60,000 souls, in the Greek East Macedonia. My engagement with photography started at the age of 36 when I acquired my first DSLR, a Pentax K-r in the summer of 2012. Almost after a year, I moved to the Nikon FF system, which I currently use. Nikon full-frame cameras have helped me much to progress my photography and develop processing technics that have taken off my images aesthetically and technically. I have numerous honorable mentions in well-known and prestigious international photography competitions as also a bronze and a gold medal. A photo of mine has been exhibited in Moscow and in Minsk - Belarus. A couple of others have been published inside issues of well-known photography magazines. Images of mine have come in first place on 500px.
