David left the army in 1957 after serving for several years in the special forces (The Parachute Regiment) of the British army, seeing active service in Cyrus and taking part in the airborne assault on Port Said during the ill-fated Anglo French Suez operation. 1957-1960 Worked on provincial newspapers as a photographer. 1960-80 Worked as a freelance photojournalist for the British National Press in London, his work being published in National and international newspapers and magazines. 1984/94 Managing director of Images Sight and Sound a corporate video production company making training and publicity videos for many national and international companies. Also worked as a freelance cameraman for a number of film companies on such films as "A Bridge Too Far" Awards.. 1974 British Sports Photographer of the year 1975 World Press Photo Competition features winner 1994/2008 Moved to Spain to organise photographic workshops for photographers
