This 240-page coffee table book cover life, career and retirement years of Robison Max Rogers (1918-2011). Born in Morgan, Utah, Max received his MA from Brigham Young University (1942), and his PH.D. in German from Stanford University (1944). He was a professor of German at Brigham Young University where he served as Department Chair of Germanic Languages, and for many years was Associate Dean of Humanites. Max initiated BYU's Semester Abroad language study program in Vienna, Austria. With his colleague, Arthur Watkins, Max authored one of the most successful college level German texts that was used at colleges across the nation for over 20 years. He was a passionate sports fan, and played tennis regularly until his early 90s. Married to Florence Francis, they were the parents of seven children.
