Acerca del libro
Salt Spring is the largest of the Gulf Islands in Southern British Columbia, and only 1 1/2 hours away via ferry from Vancouver. It is a haven for artists, draft dodgers, hermits, and everyone who enjoys Mother Earth and all she has to cough up. It is home to some talented Canadians, such as Robert Bateman, Carol Evans and Randy Bachman, and was my home for four days in August, 2008. I have wanted to visit this island for years and try to get a feel for what "Island Life" is all about. I have always felt a natural slant to all things artsy, but to my dismay have never taken the time to nurture this aspect of myself. Going to Salt Spring was mostly about getting away from the city and creating some memories with my family, but it was also about allowing the suppressed granola-eating hippie within me a chance to escape, albeit ever so briefly.
