Acerca del libro
A large Douglas fir log, 6 feet high and 20 feet long, shoots down the mountain on logger rails that lead to the timber mill. One lone man sits aside the log with only a long pole to use as a brake. This is one of over 30 paintings depicting the history of logging in Oregon, from logging with oxen to balloon logging.

Acerca del creador
The Living Rock Studios
Brownsville, Oregon
Despite two heart attacks and a stroke before the age of 45, Howard B Taylor built a two-story, 800 ton rock building, carved 75 original wood carvings, painted 125 bird paintings, wrote about and painted over 30 Oregon logging paintings, and created seven one-of-a-kind Living Rock Pictures. Because he chose to focus on progress instead of pain, he left a legacy of unique, beautiful, nature-inspired art. His legacy, The Living Rock Studios, is still open to visitors today.
