Acerca del libro
A Photographic Exhibition by Joyce & Ed Morrill
In the Fall of 2005, we traveled in India with National Geographic Expeditions, not as photojournalists, but as photographer/artists. In this body of work we wish to convey our experience of sensory bombardment, the fusion/confusion that made every day a festival of light, color, pattern, texture and sound.
It was a journey through time in Rajasthan, land of the Rajputs and Mughals, through the ancient/modern cities of New Delhi, Agra, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Jaipur, Eklingji, Delwara and on through the barren desert to Pushkar, site of the world's largest cattle fair.
Our journey gave us just a taste of this great country's diversity. Yet the infinite beauty and complexity, the sheer "excess of reality" that is India, are experiences we will carry with us always and that as artists we wish to share. We have had that opportunity through four successive exhibitions and now with this book, which includes the entire body of work, 100 vibrant images.
