Acerca del libro
Introduction
This book contains over seventy images of nine women photographed over some years as a follow up to the black and white photography I did with my book, "What is a Woman?", which also included poetry. All of the models are eighteen years or older. No poetry this time, I have let the photographs speak for themselves as I wanted to show that colour has its own form of emotive, rhythmic and aesthetic being. I have also used the partially clothed and draped body to depict colour with the Models. Time and money always being issues to creative persons have meant that I did not photograph the broad range of women that I would have liked and being that I have other projects and study to be getting on with, I have decided to be content with what I had shot and to complete this project. That said, I am happy with how this book has turned out if even if for my own satisfaction and for a few of those close to me who will be gifted copies.
The Nude can be a controversial topic because it is often associated with pornography and exploitation, particularly in its photographed and videoed form. As a Christian, I also have to give some thought to what I am depicting from a moral and spiritual perspective. However, it can also be used to depict beauty, wonder, innocence, sensuality, form, perspective, balance, freedom, humour, awe, vulnerability, social commentary, the eternal and the finite, as well as the erotic. I am at times a useful photographer but not a great one. These images have colour in them as I have interpreted them. Otherwise there is minimal manipulation as I have found the Model's beautiful as they are. Please respect the Models and do not copy these images. Any constructive criticism can be sent to the email address on the previous page.
