Acerca del libro
Size is often a property of scale, in other words size is relative. For example the dot at the end of this sentence is small, yet it is millions of times larger than a sub-atomic particle. Scale makes the world comprehendible, but when extremes of scale are compared they create the sublime. Smallness seems to be an ever-increasing thing, as technology makes all our gadgets smaller and more efficient, and a growing population (now mostly urban) requires that we use less space and material. In honor of the small, the petite, and the tiny, the SU Art Galleries put out a call for works that employ and engage with a reduced scale … 12” to be exact. The results are presented here in this catalog and were on view at our Downtown Campus.
