Val is a retired nurse and more recently retired from her job as the marina manager at Ocean Quay in Southampton. She is an RYA offshore sailing instructor with over thirty years of sailing experience. She is also an Advanced BSAC SCUBA diver, a keen gardener and an accomplished cook.
