Acerca del libro
All images presented in this book were found individually on auction websites and online thrift stores. The majority of the photographs available were bought from sellers in the United States. Each photograph was purchased at a maximum of $10 US dollars.
No history or information was offered at the time of purchase to determine the provenance of the images. None of the photographs used were part of a collection or set; they stood alone.
I have kept the digital restoration of my chosen images to a minimum, as I want to keep the authentic appearance of the aging process.
Creating modern reproductions of 'vintage' photography in book format has its drawbacks due to the low resolution of the images; hence the small size of this book.
In my exploration of vernacular photography, I enjoyed the role of the director, placing images together and creating a new narrative.
I feel that I have created something valuable and engaging from the unwanted.

Acerca del creador
Hannah Felicity Copely
Leicestershire, England, UK.
My name is Hannah and I am a photobook artist from Leicestershire, England. I have recently graduated with an MA in Photography from De Montfort University. I work within the realms of appropriated photography. I use existing imagery to create new concepts and ideas. I have an interest in the vernacular; old snap shots, family albums... The death of a photograph as a physical (almost precious) object is something which drives me to create.
