Acerca del libro
This 20th Anniversary Commemorative - Limited Edition book takes you to the flight line and beyond for an exciting look at one of the nation's best air shows. In its 120 pages and more than 150 photos, you will see the 2010 Rhode Island National Guard Air Show in a way that few do. Additionally, Air National Guard pilots and crews will share their real life combat experiences in Afghanistan using the skills and technology that are part of the air show.
With a record attendance of over 75,000, the 2010 air show reflected the partnership between the National Guard and the community which it both serves and from whom it finds its citizen soldiers.
From a charitable donation perspective, the activities of the air show have resulted in about $1.7 million benefit for local charities. Of that, Providence-based Hasbro Children's Hospital has received more than $1.4 million.
As recognition of its impact, the air show received the Dick Schram Memorial Community Relations Award in 1995 and 2008 from the International Council of Air Shows. It is one of only three air shows to be selected twice for the award. Additionally, it was the recipient of the U.S. Navy's Blue Angels "Best Air Show 2007" award.
