Acerca del libro
Are you curious about blackletter?
Here you find an example of a book accurately set in blackletter - a book which will delight you with its type (even if you cannot read it).
I set up E.T.A. Hoffmann's (1776-1822) tale of the bizarre “Rat Krespel“ (“Rat“ is an old and still used German title of an official), his violins and his angelically singing daughter in the Zentenar-Fraktur, a blackletter type designed by Ernst Schneidler (1882-1956) in 1937. In his book “Fraktur. Form und Geschichte der gebrochenen Schriften“ (“Fraktur. Forms and history of the broken types“) Albert Kapr calls this type one of the most beautiful Fraktur types. At any rate it is a highly expressive type; it shows the tendency of some Fraktur types of the 1930s to take up features of the Baroque and even older Fraktur types. In my eyes the type fits excellently to “Rat Krespel“.

Sind Sie neugierig auf Fraktur?
Ich habe E.T.A. Albert Kapr nennt in seinem Buch „Fraktur.
