Acerca del libro
In anticipation of a great European trip that we took in July, I bought my first decent digital camera in March, discovered digital processing in April, and have been lost in this re-discovered passion ever since, taking thousands of images, keeping hundreds, and liking a relative handful. Amazed with, among other things, how quick and easy today's technology makes doing what was enormously difficult and time consuming in years past. But, as ever, the real challenge of photography is learning to see the world photographically. That's a never-ending pursuit that I hope I started to scratch the surface of again this year.
I don't know if I'll continue with photography at the pace I have this year - maybe I will and will look back on this effort in 10 years as the rookie effort it is. Or maybe I'll lose interest and this will serve only as a record of how I spent a lot of time this year. Either way, it's been a stone blast!

Acerca del creador
Back into photography pretty heavily since 2010, after many years away dealing with a career, raising kids, etc. I was pretty into it in the film days from the late '60s (as a kid) through mid-80's (as a young adult) and then sort of missed everything other than family snaps until a few years ago when I discovered digital for real. I shoot mostly with fixed lens compacts (currently Sony RX1, Nikon Coolpix A), and with ILC compacts, but often I use those as if they were fixed lens too. I use a Fuji XE1 for wide work and Olympus OMD for long... I do a lot of street photography, but I like it all, including travel, landscapes, just general family stuff, etc. But if I was forced to name a specialty, I'd have to say street. I publish these books mostly for myself and family and friends in lieu of photo albums and endless slide show nights, but if anyone is interested and wants to buy one, I'm not gonna try to talk you OUT of it!
