Acerca del libro
The Sri Udom Orphanage in Thailand is home to over 300 children. Offering a safe place to live, learn, have fun and make friend the Orphanage provides opportunities these children would otherwise not have. At present, it survives on just 25 pence per child, per day from the government.
This book offers a privileged insight into the lives of a few of the children who currently live at the Orphanage. During April and May 2010, I held daily photographic workshops for those children who were left at the Orphanage whilst the others returned to their home villages for the summer break. For some, there was nobody to care for them if they went back and for others, going home meant facing abuse. Each child has their own amazing, inspiring and sometimes very sad story.
The 'Through Our Eyes' project provides a glimpse into the lives of these children through the beautiful photographs they have produced.
All proceeds made from sales of this book and the childrens' prints will go directly towards raising the initial £20,000 to build two new classrooms and improve the wonderful place that plays such an important role in the lives of so many children. Raising this money will enable more children from under-privileged backgrounds to have adequate care and the chance to finish primary school education.
Please help to support these children.
