Acerca del libro
In 1980, while pursuing an interest in interior design, Connie Sears began painting. She continued to take classes in composition, color theory, drawing, watercolor and oil painting. Connie studied with John Kaneko, Gary Pruner and Anne Gregory. The paintings she was doing began to reflect her emotional states, and she became intensely interested in the psychology connected with art making. Through the Jungian Institute in San Francisco, Connie attended workshops that focused on Carl Jung’s work with his patients.
In 1985, Connie Sears entered the CSUS graduate program in Counseling as well as a registration program in Art Therapy. By 1989, she was in private practice as a licensed MFCC and an ATR. In 1990, Connie returned to CSUS and taught in their graduate Art Therapy Program for five years.
January of 1995, Connie visited the magical town of San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico. Connie returned to live there and study art from 1996 to 1998. She enrolled in classes at the Instituto Allende and the Bellas Artes. Connie also studied privately with a number of resident artists including Dennis Phol, Barbara Goldstein and Keith Keller.
Connie Sears returns to San Miguel every winter to paint and to reconnect with the rich culture and many interesting friends. It is a second home for her.
Connie has worked mostly in vivid watercolors, inks and acrylics, oftentimes combining the mediums.
This book gives you a summary of many years of her art and some idea of what's to come.
