Acerca del libro
An accounting of the World War II experience of Lt. Marvin Stoloff, B-24 Navigator in the 766th Squadron, 461st Bomb Group, 15th Air Force, stationed at Torreta Field, Italy. Much of the book is filled with letters written home. Lt. Stoloff and his crew were downed by flak on November 17, 1944 and bailed out over Yugoslavia. They were taken in my the local Chetniks, and were rescued by the Halyard Mission on December 26, 1944. They were the last rescued group of "The Forgotten 500". Also in the book are descriptions of each of his 35 combat missions, various letters, and stories of their experience as told in recent times in various magazines. The book is intended to be a documentation of Lt. Stoloff's wartime record, preserved for family and friends. The title is taken from the salutation at the beginning of each and every letter home.
