Acerca del libro
Victoria is a magical and stunning place; it is full of warm colors, deep flavors, cheerful people, diverse cultures and unpredictably changing weather.
This book intends to be a personal tribute to that beauty. I hope I was able to capture at least a fraction of that magic in these few pictures. My wish is that you will feel that magic while contemplating the photos and that some of them will make you smile.
I selected 5 topics for this book: Natural landscape, it can’t be skipped; it wouldn’t be fair not to show a few of its natural beauties. Urban landscape, to complement that natural beauty, a mad kind of beauty.
People and traditions are reflected in the following chapters. The first is “Street Artists”, the first time in my life that I saw so many of them; they give so much to the public for just few coins.
“Moomba Festival”, it is so alive, so many smiles around that it is impossible not to get contagious …it is irresistible.
Last but not least, “Anzac and Australia Days”; there are so many visible emotions in the middle of the parades and it is impossible not to drop a few tears…so strong are the feelings!

Fatima Abreu Mendonca
Ticino, Switzerland
Fatima was born in Caracas Venezuela. She is an enthusiast of traditional Black and White photography with more than 20 years experience. Beside being self taught, she learnt photography at Roberto Mata's workshop, a well known professional Venezuelan photographer. "B&W photography allows me to connect to the emotions and feelings that a picture could transmit without getting distracted by the colors...it is all about the composition and the moment captured in a frame." Fatima is fully involved in the total process - from capturing, developing and printing on paper.
