Acerca del libro
This is a biographical account of a World War II soldier who served in North Africa, Italy, France, and Germany. His time in Italy is documented by the daily diary he kept while in battle there. From the battles of Monte Cassino to following General Mark Clark into Rome, we get a glimpse of the daily life of a machine gunner who spent most days in a gun pit and nights in a foxhole. After participating in the Invasion of Southern France, winter in the French Riviera, it was on to Germany. After crossing the Rhine, and moving on to Lenggries in southern Germany, he rejoiced with the rest of us on VE Day, the end of the war in Europe. This book includes a complete transcription of the soldier’s diary.
