In Out of My Mind, Tuchman's third exhibition with Pan American, she has created a dialogue between her two bodies of work - the witty and nostalgia-packed narrative oeuvres and the painterly paper quill internal landscapes of the mind. Exploring the nature of our minds and the brain in this new body of work, Tuchman's outlook is both serious and whimsical. Tuchman states "Clearly, I am slightly insane and the obsessive details in my work manifest a need for reason and order, but with humor and a light touch. Otherwise, life becomes much too grim." A tension exists here exploring beauty vs. tragedy, big ideas vs. minute detail, and craft vs. art.
