Jonathan Blasewitz has created an artist photography book titled Eclipse. Using his I-phone to capture images of his car, Jonathan seeks to document his daily location from 10am-2pm for a bounded period of 30 days. I feel that he is still trying to find his bearings as an artist as his images quickly become redundant, however, it is apparent that he is attempting to explore new perspectives and angles to solve this issue. I appreciate the idea behind the creation of this book but feel like the concept needs to be broadened in scope to appeal to a larger audience. Perhaps having multiple people document their location at the same time every day would help to add interest. It also would help by creating a point of comparison and potentially allowing for the serendipitous occasion where individuals paths cross. I feel that the layout could benefit by being more strongly aligned with the time and date since those were the parameters the author set for himself in the book statement. All and all I think it is an interesting idea that could benefit from being expanded upon.
