Going to the Galapagos Islands? This is an annotated photo album of the geology, plants, birds and other animals of the Galapagos Islands. However, unlike most photo albums, each photo comes with a scientific description in laymen's terms. This is not just a beautiful coffee table book, but also one that can be used for educational purposes. Written by two avid naturalists, Lee and Wen.
Cin-Ty Lee is a professor of geochemistry at William Marsh Rice University in Houston, Texas. His research is focused on understanding the origin and evolution of the Earth's crust and mantle by studying the geochemistry and petrology of rocks. He is also an avid amateur ornithologist and has published numerous peer-reviewed papers in field ornithology.
