After perusing a collection of poems spanning 15 years of writing, some good but most bad, a connected group of images within the poems became evident--attempts to create pictures within the mind more vivid that photographs but approaching the chance to have the experience for oneself. Youth, crushes, college, travel, Africa, and the transformation to adulthood all present themselves in some shape or form.
