A personal photobook exploring the artist's relationship with her deceased father, who died from the effects of alcoholism. The book features a haunting series of black & white photographs, a mix of snapshots from the family archive and new images made by the author.
Theresa Moerman Ib was born in The Netherlands in 1977 and grew up between Denmark and the UK. In 2002, she earned a bachelor's degree in English Literature and worked in the Danish media as a web content editor, writer and photographer before pursuing a career in fine art. In 2012, she graduated from the Glasgow School of Art with a First Class BA (Hons) in Fine Art Photography and Distinction for the academic dissertation The Magic Mirror: Reflections on Photography as Memory. She lives and works in Glasgow. She is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice incorporates photography, film, text, sculpture and installation. Her work is strongly influenced by collecting and storytelling. At the core of her practice is a fascination with the unreliability of memory and the tension between holding on and letting go.
