Acerca del libro
Libertatia 2008 is a collection of documentary photographs on a contemporary American subculture. These photographs were taken at an annual event hosted by the Pyrate Punx; a non-profit organization focusing on the non-mainstream music scene.
Off the beaten path high above Clear Lake, California over a hundred people from a variety of states spent the weekend together. With the help of generators and a wooden palette stage, live music plays from morning to night.

Born and raised in Massachusetts, at the age of twenty Kim relocated herself to northern California. While photographing original Art work for the digital fine art reproduction company, Skylark Images she received her B.A. in Art/Photography at Sonoma State University. During Kim's studies at the university she began to focus on photographing the local underground music shows she attended. Alongside photographing the performing bands, Kim captures the community that can appreciate and define it.
