Acerca del libro
Mythologies is a book of mysterious transformations, between the real and the imaginary. A contemporary surrealism, steeped in myth and the marvelous, to reveal what is only glimpsed in dreams. These images are the result of a descent into the unknown domain of a purely automatic exploration. Images that are inspired by the occult, alchemy, magic and sexuality joined in the always intoxicating realm of the Royal Art of the alchemical wedding.

J. Karl Bogartte, born September 8, 1944, of Dutch and Irish descent, is both an artist and poet, schooled in anthropology, photography and various esoteric traditions. He has been an active participant in international surrealism for most of his life, and cofounder of La Belle Inutile Éditions. Presently lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He began experimenting with digital manipulation of photographic source material in 2000, scanning and manipulating in Photoshop, and exploring through inner perception how the mind can translate the real and the imaginary into a transformed vision of reality. Works are archival digital prints in very limited editions, and often in unique editions of one.
