Acerca del libro
As a follow-up to his book, Burning Mom, Arthur Atlast presents many more of his mother's paintings and drawings while abandoning his previous approach of concealing her name in protest and expressing himself in writing. What began as a rambling rant against everything from consumerism, digitization and social media, to politics, religion and ancient aliens, gives way here to something that at least hints at being more like a normal memorial. In Mom's Burn Part II, the identities of his parents are revealed - one of whom was a prominent local artist of the San Francisco Bay Area, and the other a university professor and a poet. In addition, we discover the identity of the author himself who admits to being a social misfit. Somehow, this book - like the first - manages to be very beautiful and disturbing at the same time. Without writing more than a few pages in Part II, Atlast has used the coffee table format in a strange and unique way - one that never would have had much exposure before the emergence of convenient self-publishing. He seems to have transcended his own endeavor by not caring (or perhaps not having much of a choice) about POD for the sake of standard pricing. Instead, he offers - both "from and to" and "to and from" - a mystery that is more about love and honor than the sale of books. Yet the art is such a hidden treasure . . . so amazing, so engaging and undiscovered. Atlast toys with his "imaginary" readers by putting them down. He seduces them into seeing what he sees - that the shame and tragedy behind his mother's art, her mental illness, his father's unknown poetry, his own surreal life, etc., is itself, a work of art. And it's all okay . . . brilliant, hilarious, shining!

My bio isn't important. "Arthur Atlast" isn't even a real name. I'm just a guy who wrote a few books . Big deal. On the other hand, if you want to learn a few things and be mildly entertained, you're welcome to download the pdfs. After all, the books contain the real bio . . . and like their author, they're fittingly weird.
