Acerca del libro
Singapore established the Board of Commissioners of Currency in 1967 and issued its first coins and notes. In 1985, the Singaporean dollar entered the exchange market independent of other currencies which gave the Singaporean government more control over imported inflation and to ensure that Singapore’s exports remain competitive. As of 2012, the total currency in circulation was S$29.1 billion. Unlike the United States, all issued Singapore currency in circulation (notes and coins) are fully backed by external assets such as gold and silver.
As of 27th January 2017, one Singapore dollar is worth 0.56 British pound sterling.
