Acerca del libro
This book includes Yunxin Xing's works from the solo exhibition entitled Mind in Rhapsody in Carlos Art Gallery and the group exhibition entitled Redefine in University Art Gallery, Sewanee, TN, 2016. This solo exhibition presents the celebration of the “self-consciousness,” which is the acute sense of the self-awareness for one's personal existence. It introduces the world of fantasy and labyrinth created by the state of mind "raptured" by the intense sensation of pain and passion. Whimsical as it is, this body of work presents the liminal moment where both the exhilarating revelry and the depressive immobility exist at the same time. It suggests the psychological condition that is intensely aware of the boundary and the limitation between one’s body and its environment.
This book consists of the artist's talk and Scynge Xing's personal treatise concerning art practice and her personal experiences. It serves as the graduation gift from the artist herself for her commencement from college. It will be the great pleasure to order and read this book if anyone gets interested in knowing more about her.
