Acerca del libro
It’s not enough to simply say. The best and most fortunate of us have learned how to be what we say, live what we believe, do what we are. The best and most fortunate of us know that all of us are living art, works in progress for eternity. The products of our toils, the end results of our days, the impressions of our footfalls on the earth are all glaring illustrations of who and what we are.
There is no separation between Marge Mitcham and the products of her mind, heart, and hands. Paint, canvas, wood, glass, beads, thread, clay, and rock are the tools that she wields; once they are in her hands, they become extensions of her thought and personality. There is no separation between Marge and birds, sound, rushing water, children’s laughter, color, stars, ocean, or air—her mind and desire encompass all these things and more. Marge has determined to use her time on earth to make small miracles, soothe troubled spirits, and speak truths, all using the work of her mind, heart, and hands.
Marge Mitcham is exactly what she appears to be. There is no conflict, no artifice, pretense, or prevarication within her being, so there is none in her art. She is a gentle spirit, a loving gaze, an attentive listener. She is my friend and I am hers.
As you examine what she has given in this book, you will come to know her. You will come away with eyes opened wider to peer beyond the shadows and ears straining to hear the humming beneath the surface. You will come away with a smile that threatens to bubble over into unbridled laughter. You will notice the striations in a rock or the curves of a raindrop. You will be calm, and if you’re lucky, serene.
