Acerca del libro
Birds are often seen as bridges to another world, as intermediaries between heaven and earth. In Chinese mythology, the powerful wings of the crane were believed to convey souls up to paradise.
In this body of work, birds carry us through vintage viewfinders and into imagined landscapes created from captured and digitally construct-ed elements.
Carter's signature style developed out of an exploration of alternative photographic processes and digital image manipulation. Her birds and landscapes have been exhibited at top art shows around the country.
Carter lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico with her husband, photographer John Charbonneau, and their son.
