Experiencing the Tokyo subway, particularly during rush hour, is an exercise in contradictions: there is light and darkness, movement and stasis, rushing and waiting, arrival and departure, solitude and the masses, entering and exiting – all at the same time, creating an atmosphere that combines reality with the surreal. This book explores the Tokyo subway in gritty black and white images taken on film with a rangefinder.
This book has been months in the making, and I am so pleased to have it in publishable form at long last.
The book will be published in a limited print run of 250 copies. Please email me your mailing address at tteschke@yahoo.com after purchasing your copy of the book and I will send you a signed label to insert in the book.
Thank you and enjoy!

Moscow, Russia
Currently living in Moscow, I am working on several personal projects in 35mm digital and in medium format positive and BW film, including "Industrial Landscapes," "Isolation," "Leisure in Moscow," and "Youth in Moscow." I am also photographing portraits of children and their families at a blood cancer ward as a part of the American Women's Organization's charitable work with the Nastenka Foundation in Moscow.
I have had the opportunity to exhibit in Paris, Tokyo and most recently Moscow.
Primarily self-taught, I briefly interned with National Geographic photographer Steve McCurry (photographer of the famous NG Magazine Afghan Girl cover shot). I have assisted photographers in Paris and Washington, DC and worked informally with several photography professionals over the years.
I am excited about having just published journals with images of Paris and Moscow that can be previewed here at my Blurb Bookstore!
Thank you for enjoying and supporting my work!
