"Into the Fire" is a collection of photographs, short stories, and poems that give a brief but personal view into the life and experiences of firefighters. It brings a human face and perspective to the dangerous occupation of firefighting.
I spent a lot of my childhood at the fire house learning about the equipment. I never pursued firefighiting because I loved art way too much until I realized that I could volunteer at my local department and continue to work as a high school art teacher. I would not dismiss the idea of taking on a full-time firefightinig position if teaching is no longer an option. I hope that this is some time down the road since I still thoroughly enjoy teaching, because as of now I have the best of both worlds
