Acerca del libro
"I think about how this Dutch geometric landscape have produced artists like Piet Mondriaan and Gerrit Rietveld and how their abstraction of space is not that far away from the landscape itself. This functionalist and conceptual landscape where human logic is ever present has in turn formed me."
- Emelia Bergmark, who inspired me to take the students out for a trip to the countryside.
About forty graduate students of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie were invited to participate in the making of Graduates 2014 [Leaving Traces] twenty-one of them could fit in this book.
We started off in April and made trips through June every weekend to the Dutch countryside to explore the small country roads, ‘de polder’, landscapes beneath sea level, land reclaimed from the sea.
