Artisti, intellettuali ed esperti viaggiatori ne hanno decantato nel tempo la bellezza e la particolare atmosfera. Lord Byron, tra i tanti, la definì la “perla dell'Adriatico”, mentre George Bernard Shaw si chiedeva se il paradiso mai potesse assomigliare a questo incantevole luogo, a metà strada tra la terra e il mare. Da Dubrovnik, si raggiungono le vicine isole di Lacroma (Lokrum), Korcula e Meleda (Mljet), la più selvaggia isola croata.
… E dire che non basta andare in vacanza in Croazia per visitare la splendida città balcanica. Chi va al mare in Istria, o passa qualche giorno a Spalato, deve fare un bel po’ di strada per raggiungere Dubrovnik (200 km). Per arrivarci bisogna addirittura passare dalla Bosnia: in mezzo c’è Neum, centro abitato di 4 mila anime che separa la… Croazia del nord da quella del sud, in quel lembo di “terra di nessuno” che è l’unico sbocco sul mare della Bosnia. In definitiva, per vedere Dubrovnik, bisogna volerci andare veramente. E lo sforzo viene ampiamente ripagato. Il primo gioiello che scintilla all’arrivo sono le mura della città: oltre 2 chilometri di pietra bianca, come quella che riveste tutto lo splendido centro storico. Per visitarlo si cammina obbligatoriamente nello Stradun, il viale che va dalla porta Pile a piazza Luza: attraversarlo è una delle principali attività serali per i turisti, che passeggiano in mezzo ai negozi e a un’architettura rinascimentale che allo stesso tempo abbaglia e riposa la vista. Oggi Dubrovnik è più “periferica” di un tempo, almeno per i turisti. Ma chi si sforza di andarla a vedere difficilmente resta deluso.

Capture first inside you and then on the film the picture in front of you as if it's the last possible. I was born in Perugia (Italy) in 1954, studied technical-scientific matters and made work experiences in the industry field. I’m passionate of photography and love traveling choosing destinations and courses I take to reach them. I overgrow pictorial, graphical and informatics interests; I’ve matured helpful experiences in the photographic field by an advertising studio and have exhibited my works in some photographic exhibition. I try to translate in reality an image creates in mind, to seize what I think and see trying to make fleeting the limit between photography and picture, pictured subject and the evocation of a feeling.
