Acerca del libro
Isolated, cold, broken down and abandoned. The images I have created represent many different stories of barns, houses and warehouses that were once useful and beautiful, but now are left to deteriorate. I really want to capture the work and the years that these structures have endured. I love being able to see history in an object or scene. I want to spark an interest in people when looking at these photos and make them wonder about what these places used to look like or why they are in such bad condition now.
It is definitely sad to see these beautiful structures in such terrible condition, but at least they are still standing and could possibly still have some use. As great as new architecture is, we will never be able to get back the great, historic architecture in some of these old buildings. Also, these buildings may have familial value that people don’t realize. A lot of times farming is a family business, so some of these barns may have been in a family for generations. That is why I love these old, abandoned, seemingly useless structures.
My name is Mallory Fisher. I have been photographing for about three years now, both independently as well as in a class setting. I absolutely love all types of photography, although I would have to say my favorite type of photography is in natural light and shooting landscape or natural looking scenes. My interest for photography was really sparked by my father, who surprised me by giving me his camera a few years ago. Ever since then I was hooked, and he has continually fueled my artistic fire, always encouraging me to keep going and to always see things in life as art.
